How to wash your duvet

How to wash your duvet

Duvets are one of the key products of Mollyflex, a leading manufacturer of made in Italy mattresses and accessories. To ensure the long life and quality of all the company’s duvets, Mollyflex provides a series of guidelines relating to the different duvet washing options.

Machine washing the duvet:

  • Do not use chlorine-based bleaches, as this would seriously damage the duvet.
  • Use the 30°, max 40° programme.
  • Set the machine wash programme for man-made or cotton fibres.
  • If possible use a spin-dry and quick-dry.
  • Do not expose to direct heat sources (radiator, sun, etc.)
  • Remember that for a good wash, large quantities of water are needed.

Hand-washing the duvet:

  • Do not use chlorine-based bleaches.
  • Use lukewarm water.
  • Use delicate soap.
  • Rinse well up to seven times. Only clear water must come out of the duvet.
  • Fully dry in the open air or in the home, but in any case in a warm and dry environment. Try to shake and beat every square of the product. This will help it to drain off and dry properly.
  • Do not expose to direct heat sources.

How to put the duvet away at the end of the season

At the end of the season, once the cold weather has come to an end, it is best to put the duvet back in its original bag, which has been specifically designed to protect it for long periods. The down with which the duvet is filled requires continuous air circulation, above all if the duvet is not to be used for several months. If the original packaging is damaged or no longer available, a large cotton sheet can be used as an alternative.
