Sleep improves the memory

Sleep improves the memory

Do you want to train your memory? A simple and relaxing night's sleep can give you many more benefits than a night reading books.

Put an end to sleepless nights spent studying and memorising as many topics as possible! It’s not the right way! Well, yes: an American study has shown that sleeping soundly helps the brain to better memorize all that has been learned during the course of the day.

Howard Nusbaum, a professor of psychology at the University of Chicago and co-author of the study, supports this theory: “... those who fill up on coffee and spend sleepless nights studying or working are not choosing the best method for improving their performance.”

Indeed, during the day our brain encounters numerous interferences that make us forget what we have learned. When sleep comes, there is also the return of our awareness, knowledge and skills that were lost throughout the day.

The right rhythm of sleep and wakefulness ensures not only good memory, but also better learning: if we have slept well and long enough, our brain is more alert and can store a greater amount of information, which will also be retained for longer.

Do not forget that quality of sleep is primarily determined by the quality of the support that we use. A good quality mattress and pillow suited to our needs can certainly help us to rest well and wake up in the best way.

So, what are you waiting for? Sleep, dream and remember.
